The BIOVOICES project is delighted that the workshop proposal submitted to the third Global Bioeconomy Summit 2020 (GBS2020), focusing on Innovation and sustainable bioeconomy was accepted.  In response to an open call, 50 workshop proposals were submitted, workshops and associated partners were selected by the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy. This global focus means that these workshops are being organised by bioeconomy stakeholders from all over the world and will cover a highly diverse range of topics.

BIOVOICES project partners and representatives from the Grand Est region of France will jointly facilitate a breakout group to discuss the Land-based Bioeconomy as part of the workshop on “Rebooting the Economy – Sustainability, Growth and Climate Action” co-chaired by the Head of Bioeconomy & Food Systems Unit, European Commission.

BIOVOICES partners welcome the opportunity to actively participate in this international biennial conference, which this year will be presented in an innovative and interactive online format.  The event running from the 16th -20th November, provides a platform for key actors from government, science & innovation, business and civil society to review and discuss emerging opportunities and challenges and to develop visions for the development of a sustainable global bioeconomy. The summit is being organised together with five official GBS2020 partners, representing the European Union, Japan, the ASEAN region, Eastern Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Many high-level delegates from around the world have been confirmed as speakers.
