Maximising media communications

With a growing emphasis on social media, major opportunities can be missed if traditional media communications – print, broadcast and online media outlets – are not approached.

Minerva recently worked with a UK based not for profit organisation who had identified that they needed to build confidence and competence in this area to raise awareness and support their drive for funding.

The Minerva team, led by Director and Communications Strategist Rhonda Smith, designed and delivered a half day capacity development workshop focused on media planning. The sessions provided valuable insights into how ‘the media’ works as well as giving practical examples and tips to help with media planning and delivery.

Participants described the sessions as ‘extremely helpful’ and ‘very interesting’ and thanked the team for their ‘professional perspective.’

Minerva account manager and co-lead trainer, Mimi Saville explains:  ‘We recognise the impact that media communications can have on organisations in helping them to achieve their business goals and ambitions.  With effective management and assessment, media communications are a huge opportunity to any organisation wishing to tell their story and reach a wider target audience and stakeholders.’

‘By working closely with our clients, we aim to give them the necessary ‘toolbox’ to enable them to deal with and create media opportunities with increasing effectiveness.’ She continues.
