New online platform launched for European researchers

An EC-funded project co-ordinated by Minerva has today (28/07/15) launched its online platform for European researchers working in food, fisheries, agriculture, forests and biotechnology.

The new web platform from CommBeBiz – a Horizon 2020 project that aims to speed up the transfer of knowledge from bioeconomy research projects to business, social innovation and policy – offers free resources to help bioeconomy researchers.  Members will benefit from networking, visibility, training, market-assessment, business coaching and industry meet-and-match.

Rhonda Smith, Director of Minerva and CommBeBiz Project Co-ordinator, says: “We are delighted to offer this free, comprehensive resource to help all involved in bioeconomy research connect, learn and create impact for their projects and ideas.  Our message is – register as soon as possible, whatever your stage of research, to take early advantage of our interactive and informative content.”

As the central hub of the CommBeBiz project, the platform will enable researchers to join a community promoting two-way engagement and interaction, from meeting and networking to sharing information with other researchers and stakeholders.  Members will have access to tailor-made and targeted activities for training, testing, match-making, and enhancement of EC-funded bioeconomy research projects.

It’s free to register and a host of resources will be available, including a library (building over time), project briefs, webinars, innovation catalogues, expert blogs, training events and videos.

Following registration, members will benefit from several key support actions:

  • Networking with other projects and experts along the value chain
  • Visibility for their project through web-presentation and publications (jointly produced with the projects)
  • Training in research and business communication – by webinars or face-to-face
  • Assessment of market potential of developments by technology transfer experts
  • Business Coaching – a free-to-enter Awards Scheme where 15 projects per year receive an individual action plan
  • Meet-and-Match with industry and policy makers at CommBeBiz events and online

“We’ll continue to develop the platform throughout the lifespan of the CommBeBiz project to ensure it delivers consistent, relevant and quality support,” says Rhonda.
